SAFE VILLAGE PROGRAMME (SVP) / AWARENESS BUILDING REGARDING HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Unsafe migration and human trafficking are common issues in Jharkhand and are affecting young girls from Simdega, Gumla, Khunti, Lohardaga, and West Singhbhum districts.

Extreme poverty, poor education, and a scarcity of employment opportunities have made marginalised tribal communities vulnerable to human trafficking, especially children and youth.

To address this concern, AROUSE Simdega, in collaboration with My Choices Foundation, Hyderabad, initiated awareness-building interventions through street theatre and the implementation of the Safe Village Programme (SVP).

The objective of this initiative is to address trafficking in 25 target villages. With the kind support and written permission of the DEO Simdega, these activities are being conducted in the district’s schools and Inter Colleges, thus building empowered families to safeguard their children and create safer villages.
